Since domain values are trending strongly in an upward fashion, and since .coms are not the only game in town anymore, there exists a great opportunity for someone with some research time and a thesaurus/dictionary etc.
Here is one way to locate domain nuggets laying in wait..
Option one: Search for recent sold domains, and look for the other variations of it (invention.com recently sold for example, so look at the other domain extensions (.org, .info etc)
Option two: Using a thesaurus, using the name that you are researching, choose other variables on the term. If the terms are generic and understandable, you may have a winner.
Option three: Query google for search traffic for your term/word. If there is substantial search traffic, you have just confirmed some level of demand, and value. As a reminder, the more generic the word(s) is/are, the better value you will attain.
Example: bringluck.com sold for $800, but vienna.net sold for $15k…the latter a .net, but more brandable than bringluck.com
Now start doing your research and make some money. The domain gold rush is in full swing!
